The best cob dip recipe – yummy gooey goodness + easy to make

 COB-DIP-TOMFO-1

The easiest cob dip recipe to make, perfect for parties, when you have to bring a plate or bbq’s. Made with sour cream, ham, shallots and a cob loaf… too easy!

When we are off to a party I say… “What do you want me to bring?”

my friends say…”I need that cob dip of yours!”

It’s simple to make and everyone loves it, even the kids, here’s the recipe.

You will need

1 cob

2 x 300mL sour light cream

1 1/2 cups grated light tasty cheese

150g ham

2 shallots sliced

Cut the top off the cob, pull out the middle and break into small pieces.

Mix everthing up in a bowl, then pour into the cob. (I also mix everything in the cob, why make more washing up for yourself?)

Cook in the oven at 175°C for 20-30 mins.

Remove the smaller pieces at about 15mins, then cook the rest until all the cheese is melted. Keep an eye on it so the cob doesn’t catch. If you find the cob is catching you can also remove  it from the oven, transfer the mix and heat in the microwave for a few mins and then replace back in the cob.

Serve on a platter and wait for the compliments. Make sure you get some…it doesn’t last long.

Once all the little pieces have gone, break the cob apart and eat the whole thing, that’s the best bit I think. All that gooey goodness, not good for the hips, but your tastebuds will love it.

How cool are these napkins?

You’re all set for the next time you need to bring something or your next gathering. Yum enjoy!

Pleasure… yep the boys usually love this dip, but I must admit… I do have to move myself away from it after a while too, it’s addictive.
