DIY Wine Glass Marker – Scandinavian Inspired

Never know which drink is yours at a party?

No need to worry anymore…

because you can make these Scandinavian inspired DIY Wine Glass Markers in a jiffy.

And the best bit is… you can wear them as a necklace,

so you’ll always know which drink is yours, whatever party you’re at.

We had an epic DIY party for Craftmonth did you see it?

I wasn’t planning on making wine glass markers, it just happened.

But I’m glad I did.

It’s the special touches that make a party great, I reckon.

Here’s how you can make them too.

DIY Wine Glass Markers

Flat Leather Cord

Beads

Scissors

Tape (optional)

Cut the leather into lengths, I cut mine to 76cm. Fold in half, thread on a bead at the two open ends, then tie a knot to secure.

Finished!

How easy is that?

Choose different coloured leather and different shaped beads to make each one unique.

I used black, chocolate and gold leather and a variety of bead shapes to make mine.

TIP: If your beads are hard to thread through two thicknesses of leather, simply tape both ends together (like the end of a shoelace) and insert through the bead, remove the tape once threaded.

To wrap around a stemless glass, insert the bead through the loop and tie with a knot to secure. (See pics below)

You can use these for champagne glasses and classic wine glasses with stems too!

To wrap around a champane glass or classic wine glass, wrap the leather around the stem, and through the loop as above, then tie a knot to secure.

These were never meant to be necklaces…

But at our party

we were all relaxing,

talking,

and sipping wine.

{As you do.}

One friend announced she liked them so much, she was going to take hers home, so she put it around her neck!

Genius, we thought!

You could take it with you to a party and always know which drink it yours.

She’s pretty darn clever.

{I think she does her best work over a few wines.}

To wear as a necklace: simply place the drink tie around your neck and push the bead up!

Come to think of it, you could also wrap these around your wrist, tie with a knot and wear as a bracelet too!

I happen to think they look pretty classy on the table. Why not share the love and make a set for your next party?

How about you? Never know which drink is yours at a party? Do you have the best ideas over a few wines?

Fancy making these DIY Wine Glass Markers for your next party?

Would you wear them as a necklace or bracelet even?

Have a wonderful week guys, I hope you’ll drop by next week.

Live with love,

  1. I love that these are functional, stylish and dual purpose! I’m a big fan of wine glass markers and have some souvenir ones for wine glasses with stems but yours are so neat because they go round stemless glasses too!
